It is inspiring to read about the Brontes, but it is upsetting to read about their deaths. The book is aimed at the 6-8 age range and the subject matter is just a little too dark for that age. This means that young women will be inspired by a set or sisters who fought against the patriarchy, but they will also read about a lot of people dying one by one. 'The Brontës: The Fantastically Feminist (and Totally True) Story of the Astonishing Authors' by Anna Doherty tells the story how it was. The sisters were able to pack a lot into a short time as they all produced quality books, but died before their time and that is not even to mention the sisters that did not get old enough to write their books. The tale of the Bronte Sisters is an empowering one and a pretty short one as the entire family was laced with tragedy.
